A passion for fishing since 1970

My love of fishing began when my parents took me, my brother and our bad haircuts to visit family friends in North Bay Ontario in the spring 1970. I caught my first fish, a perch on a worm dangling below a bobber.

I was immediately hooked.

My dad no longer cuts my hair in the driveway, but I still love fishing, all kinds of fishing. I have fished all over Canada, as well as foreign locales, including Ireland and the Florida Keys.

I have worked as an illustrator in children's television and I run a construction company. I have always loved the outdoors. I tie flies, I build wooden boats, but most of all I love fishing.

I started Tailwater Outdoors in an effort to get great outdoor gear into the hands of like-minded individuals. We are a small shop dedicated to building premium quality handmade wooden landing nets. Our nets are still made one at a time and almost entirely by hand.
